Jason Cooper

Jason Toop Cooper (born January 31, 1967 in London, England) is an English musician best known for his work with The Cure.

Jason first joined the band in 1995 as their drummer, following the 1993 departure of Boris Williams. So far, he has helped produce the studio albums Wild Mood Swings, Bloodflowers, and The Cure. He also appeared in Trilogy and Festival 2005.

Unfortunately, most fans are not as receptive to Jason as they were to his predecessor. This may be due to the fact that he first appeared on the album Wild Mood Swings, which was poorly received because its material was largely atypical of The Cure. Plus several drummers were auditioning for the job at the time, and so Jason did not in fact play all the drums on that album. But in all fairness Jason has proven himself an excellent drummer on the latter albums Bloodflowers and The Cure. Some of his best drumming can be heard in the songs "39", "Bloodflowers", and "Spilt Milk", the omitted track off Bloodflowers, in addition to his performance of Pornography on the Trilogy DVD.

On May 15, 2004, Jason married his long-time girlfriend Allison.
